I had applied for a position as a caregiver in the Ramah, New Mexico area on Indeed, I did not have any online interview, nor did I speak with anyone. I have only had contact through email and text message. I was informed that I was chosen to interview for the position and it would be done through google forms. After that was complete, I was informed that I got the position, along with an offer letter, I was informed that a background check would be done through ID.me. Once that was all completed, I got the persons information (which did not match the information in the job description) and was also asked if I would be able to obtain a wheelchair for the patient, which I agreed to. I was sent a check for the amount of $2,000 usd and told to "go to the ATM and deposit it, then show a picture of it being done. I have not attempted to do this, and was told to "tear up the check, snap a picture of it, and dispose of it properly" The thing with that is that it was mailed from Texas, the company on the check is from Florida, and the care company says its in California. I did ask why things look odd, and was told "that company is the one that has agreed to pay for it. Now that I have looked closer into things, the company "A bridge home" (logo used) is located in Idaho, and only serves 3 counties in that state. Looking up "The bridge home" does not bring up anything.
