Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare
Specific example: After being with the insurance company for 5 months, I was referred by my physician to a Gastroenterologist. Prior to contacting the Gastroenterologist I ensured they were in-network with Bright Healthcare by referencing their online in-network list and directly contacting Bright Healthcare customer service. After confirming the physicians advertised in-network status, I attempted to schedule an appointment with the physicians office. I was informed at that time that the Physician did not accept patients insured through Bright Healthcare. I further investigated and learned that despite Bright Healthcare advertising the Physician and the Ambulatory Surgical Clinic as being in-network on their website, they in fact due not cover the Ambulatory Surgical Clinic. The Physician refused to take patients because Bright Healthcare would not reimburse the Ambulatory Surgical Clinic post surgery and the bill was being pushed onto the patient. I then contacted Bright Healthcare requesting that they provide me an in-network Gastroenterologist and Ambulatory Surgical Clinic and they could not provide one. I have audio recording of all conversations to support the above assertion.
In summary, Bright Healthcare is fraudulently reporting their In-network physicians and practices to the Federal Government and Florida residents for the purpose of garnering monthly premiums until which time the insured discovers Bright Healthcare's falsified in-network list. This has resulted in the insured paying thousands of dollars in premiums and/or uncovered medical expenses.
