I applied for a position at Brinter, Inc. and received a text inviting me to interview. I was sent a Teams link, and the interview was conducted with a series of questions via chat. This took over an hour. Afterwards, I was told to login to Teams the next morning at 8am ET. I waited approximately 10 minutes and followed their instructions on the hiring process, which included a check for $2,750 for computer equipment and software. I was told to expect an email from their accountant with the check and deposit instructions. This is when I researched the first interviewer, checked the email address and found that Tatyana Coleman is not an employee of Brinter, Inc. I also noticed the email address listed as [email protected] -- not a business domain. The interviewer asked how long it would take for me to take a photo and deposit the check, and subsequently, waited for me to get back in 15 minutes to confirm the deposit. This was when I researched job scammers and noted similar conversations. I had already provided them with my name, address, name and location of my bank before realizing that these were scammers. I have gone on the company's address to request confirmation of the employee, Tatyana Coleman, who did not show up on LinkedIn. I am concerned that I provided personal information under the guise of a job offer.
