Upon opening internet, the monitor displayed a menacing display that it was infected with a virus. Indicated a phone number to call immediately. They took over my computer info (supposedly to clean unnecessary programs and the Trojan virus). I initially agreed to purchase their security program. After ending my conversation, I went online and discovered they were perpetrators of a scam. Immediately called their toll-free number and indicated I had learned they were lying and would not be purchasing anything from them. Got a song and dance from them but I persisted and made it clear that I wasn't falling for their ploy. I hope this will be the end of my encounter with them. Meanwhile have kept an eye on my bank records, etc.
