I had put multiple feelers out to secure a loan , times are tough and I just needed something to get me back on my feet. Well I was contacted by a Michael Barnes from Bookbanks Lending. He seemed legit. Had all my info , I found a website. Verified the phone number from the emails linked to the website. Looked into them. Couldn’t find any red flags initially. So I went through with it. They asked for an advanced fee to secure my loan because I didn’t have a co-signer. Cool. I sent it. Then it came back that they needed more money to secure it as the $500 originally wasn’t enough to secure a $8,000 loan. I decided to cancel as I couldn’t afford that and the $500 left me broke. So I was promised that within 10-14 business days I would have a cheque mailed to me. It’s been a month. I still don’t have any money returned. I can’t get a hold of the company , I’ve tried emailing and calling. I’ve even emailed the original person I was in contact with and now my emails are bouncing back. I’m pretty sure I got scammed which is supper [censored]ty as a full time mom who’s been laid off.

Given the times, money is tight. I applied for a loan online and apparently was approved & had to forward security deposit, insurance cost to get supposed loan. Well, I was taken. The apparent lender backed out of the loan, but if I was to send another $1000, they had another lender who would fund the loan.

I didn't send anymore. Have tried emailing, phoning numerous times with no response!
