I contacted Brooks Pest Control because I had a mouse, which at the time I believed might have been a nest of mice (but turned out to be just one), and they were the only service that said they could come to my home same-day. However, they made me sign a 6 month service contract in order to receive that 1 time, same day service. I signed it, believing I had a mice infestation. When the technician arrived at my home, he did not have any of the necessary tools (bait traps, etc) to service a rodent infestation, and instead sprayed for spiders and cockroaches, which were not an issue. He said he would return 3 days later to set bait traps, but never did. I ended up catching the singular mouse myself, and subsequently patching any holes myself. I then moved out of my home to a new one. I received a text message from Brooks Pest Control saying they were coming by to service my home, as per the 6 month contract. I called back and let them know that I had moved and would no longer be requiring their services. They asked that I provide proof of my move, which I did. They said they would cancel the contract. They then called back and said their technician was arriving at my house. I told them that I had cancelled my contract, and no longer lived at the residence the technician was arriving at. They then said that my new address was still within their service area, and that they would not be cancelling the contract but instead transferring services to the new residence. I told them I did not need their services, especially since they didn't accurately provide them when I needed them most. They then said I could cancel, but it would be a $215 cancellation fee. I told them I was not interested in paying that, especially since I did not initially receive the service I believed I was paying for. After getting into a heated argument about the ethics of their business, the account manager I was on the phone with told me he was going to hang up on me and cancel my account. I told him not to cancel the account because I did not want to pay the $215 cancellation fee. He proceeded to hang up on me, and then I received an automated text message saying my account was canceled and my card was charged $215. After looking up Brooks Pest Control's instagram and google/yelp reviews, I have found they've pulled this scam on almost every person who has made the mistake of using their "services." I believe they are taking advantage of people, especially those who 1. do not understand the internet, 2. do not understand automated payments, 3. were not thoroughly aware of their contract that does not allow for cancellations, and 3. those who cannot fully take care of themselves, i.e. elderly, non-English speaking, disabled people. I believe their business is fraudulent and should be investigated so that they may not be able to rob any other unsuspecting clients.

I had signed up for a service that i was told included swept spider webs the interior & exterior. The entire property was to be sprayed. The technician that came did not complete the job. The technician was that came was here for 30 mins or less. The technician left without saying a word. My card was charged for $125 without even the technician asking or checking the service was completed. I then call to complain about this technician and I was told they will send another tech out. It is Saturday and someone arrives at 12:50PM and my appt was at 3-5 pm. It was the same exact technician. He was being hostile & passive aggressive with me and arguing that he did a service. I explained he did not and that he left without even asking if everything looked good. The spider webs are still on the property and bugs as well. I did call regarding my refund and to not continue with this company but they are refusing to do the right thing. They want money in order for me to cancel which is cheating. They provide mediocre services and want more money to fund this terrible business.
