Currently I am behind on some of my personal bills because I contracted Covid pneumonia and missed several weeks of work and I nearly died. One of the creditors I’m behind on is credit1. The word credit with the number one afterwards. It is a payday loan. I received a text message stating that there were criminal charges being filed against me for missed payments and criminal charges because the checking account I used when I was approved for the loan was no longer active. So this scammer had accurate very personal details about the loan exactly. This scammer was able to see what was true which was that yes I had to close my checking account because I was so behind on all my bills. That’s scary alone. They were telling me that if I did not give them money immediately the cops would knock on my door in an hour and arrest me and charge me with three felony charges all relating to money crimes. I explained that I have since consolidated my debts And have also notified credit1 would’ve done and I shouldn’t need to be making any more payments. The scammer said that legally that didn’t matter it needed to be paid or I was going to jail that I had agreed to those terms. So this “lawfirm“ transferred me to some supervisor and forced me to agree I would pay this. I said I would pay this as soon as I could validate their identity 1st. If they could send me identification law firm details etc. And that is when this ““ supervisor“ proceeded to raise his voice talk faster and talk over me trying to bully me into giving them money. I ended up contacting the police department and I made a report. There were two phone numbers are used to reach this law firm. One was the text message that I was originally text from another phone number is +1 (347) 732-2098

Here is a copied and pasted message from the first text message I received from these scammers…

—Hello this is Bryan Cave Law Offices this message is intended for **** **********. The purpose of this contact is about litigation currently reviewed for 3 charges against your name which will be filed with the district court this evening. Feel free to contact the petitioners office that number is 646-583-3243. Good luck in court—
