The credit card was lost. We called the credit company and asked that the account be closed and provide a new account number, which they did. We gave the new number to all of our providers and removed the old card. The credit card company sent an email or text in regard to the charge by justanswer.com. We responded that we did not have any knowledge of this charge and they opened an investigation. We assume the card account number was acquired from us without our knowledge. We continued following the progress of the investigation and were told we would be refunded the money and then, that we would not be reimbursed because we benefited from the Service justanswer. We have no idea how this happened, but someone had used our old card. We did not know of justanswer.com. We asked no questions online or by phone. We contacted the credit card company and asked how this could be. We confirmed that the old card was cancelled.

We are victims and yet we are treated with suspicion and distrust.

The worst is we don’t know what is to come. Although we have cancelled the justanswer account and we’re been told verbally that it was in fact cancelled, we have no assurance in writing which we sincerely hope is sent by mail. Cancelling the discover card would by all indications make us vulnerable to another round of unauthorized charges and headaches. It used to be that the credit people would cancel your card and the case was closed. Convenience comes with a price. The merchant wins this time.
