My Grandparents who are in their 80's had a knock on their door. A man presented himself as a worker with buddy's asphalt and claimed he had some extra gravel and noticed my grandparents driveway had been washed away with the recent freeze thaw and rain, and wanted to know if they would like them to grade and gravel the driveway for free. My grandfather said that would be nice and agreed to have it done for free. Not much later they started grading the driveway and had a bunch of machinery in the yard. They were planning on paving the driveway and charging them for it. We arrived and told the construction company to leave and that they are to do nothing more. They refused to leave and said they wanted paid for at least grading the driveway. At that point we threatened to call the police and they decided to leave. We did call and file a report with the PA State police and they will be investigating the matter. They were also told to never step foot on the property again.
