One of the links in the emails goes to a defunct URL: https://www.thebuenavida.org/ I assume this is because they've changed company URLs because of complaints about their business model.
The instructions for cancelling reference a web site that does not exist: http://www.mybuenavida.com/tools/recurring/customer/76770542df7b631db38e95/subsc...⇄ (it merely redirects to their front page which tells you they are sold out and invites you to sign up for updates, with no way to cancel the subscription.)
Here is the text from the order confirmation email:
"*Buena Vida provides a subscription service. By subscribing to our service, you have confirmed that you accept our Terms of Service. Your membership will automatically renew on a recurring basis at which time your credit card will be charged automatically for the subscription products, including applicable shipping and handling fees until you cancel your membership. You may cancel your membership at anytime by logging in to your account, selecting Subscriptions, then clicking cancel next to the item."
My first email to them bounced back. My second (to the support address listed above) gave me a link to a form to fill out in order to cancel: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSce5GWJsAj4Jigrx3dRpyv5ARPbqyO8kxzb55o0...⇄ />
It's an onerous amount of information, requiring me to look up which email address I used, find the order number, guess what I filled in as my birthday (since I would not have given an unvetted web site my true birthdate), and then I don't know the credit card information because fortunately I used a virtual account number. So I filled out their form but I have no idea whether the "subscription" is cancelled or not.
I chose "18-24" as the age range because this site targets teenagers and my 13 year old daughter was the one who found the site asked me to place the order, and while I used my own credit card, she paid me back for it.
I am especially concerned about this site because they are targeting children.
