Type of a scam Online Purchase
We found the puppies first at burkeenglishmastiff.com. The poor grammar was concerning to me, so I did a reverse image search. I then found the same pictures on the other 2 websites from above. The price was good, $850 (soon to find, to good to be true). It was also strange that at just over 11 weeks old, none of the puppies had been reserved or adopted. Upon contacting the "owners", we were told they ship via airplane for $120 and that they only accept Venmo, PayPal Friends and Family, and Zelle Quick Pay. I was suspicious so I continued to ask questions. I asked to use PayPal Goods and Services instead and was quickly ignored. It was also brought to my attention that airlines have breed restrictions, which includes all Mastiff breeds. I asked what airline they use and was told American Airlines. I called AA directly and they confirmed that they do not ship Mastiffs. The "owners" also explained that in order to visit in person, I would have to put down a $400 "refundable" deposit. This is to be done BEFORE, JUST TO VISIT. The rest of the payment would be made after signing papers. And the papers (sales contract and application) would be given after handing over personal information. The personal information would also be used to register the puppy at the airport. Once at the airport, they would send video of the puppy being boarded. Not surprisingly, they really pushed shipping the puppy.
