Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
This business’ product page listed these mugs as made out of “mineral” and claimed mugs may appear slightly different due to the nature of the material, totally acceptable. They did advertise in this context the mugs would appear crystalline, but it’s easy to know for a relatively small amount of money they would not be true crystal, also acceptable. I read this product page head to toe three times over to make sure I knew what I was buying. With that I placed my order and when it finally arrived, I pulled two resin mugs out of their packaging smelling of fresh paint, looking absolutely nothing as advertised, and with additional features like metal inserts.
I went back to the page, and they have since unpublished their product page, and Web Archives did not get the chance to crawl it. I wish I had taken screenshots, and I’ve learned my lesson there. There is a small amount of cached content Google, and for reference they used the same exact images as every other merchant currently selling those mugs online. They are all stock images for this dropshipping product.
I contacted customer service and asked to initiate a refund because what I received was completely and I had been deceived by their photos and marketing. No where on the page had it been made clear this was crafted from resin, and as I mentioned they stated the product was created from minerals. I can’t guarantee the paint used was even food safe.
The first few messages they seemed to dodge my request for a refund explaining to me about the product in more words than they used on the product page, as if that would make it better. I reiterated with every message sent that I expected a refund for this falsely advertised product. Finally they offered to refund 20% and allow me to keep the trash products.
I did not accept, and instead informed them for the second time I would be filing complaints with the FTC and BBB. This is no longer about the money, but the complete disregard for consumers and their scam-like business practices. You’d think after messing up that bad the least they could do is not jerk customers around with endless emails and just refund them.
All I ask is that you investigate their business before they get the chance to scam more people out of their money with deceptive business practices. I have screenshots of all emails and photos of the products I received should it be helpful. It’s unfortunate the product page was unpublished, but I’m sure this is not the only product with which they are scamming people.
