My wife received an email allegedly from Amazon stating that her packages were on hold because a new device had tried to log into her Amazon account. She thought she was calling Amazon customer service but this was apparently a fake number. They told her the account/computer had been breached and would transfer her to their help group. I talked to their help group who walked me through the process of giving them control of my computer (biggest mistake). He did a "security check" and showed me the alleged breach. Then referenced me to an outside company (buzzing technology inc) for repair of the breach for $909.50. Had me electronic transfer a check for the amount. Afterward I find out about previous scam that occurred just like this by the same company. We have since closed all of our credit cards and bank info that was on the computer.
