An individual identifying himself as Ron Coleman called my cel phone from 626-888-5279 and 626-598-9653 on Tuesday. He said he was a local construction company in the area and was out doing free estimates. Said he would be by my home on Thursday. He knew my full name and address and I stupidly verified it. I momentarily entertained him talking about siding work on my home. He began to ask when I was at home and when I was at work and who else lived in the home. It didn't feel right. So I asked him for his name again and a return number I could call him back at. He gave me the number 323-786-7059. I then asked him for his Contractor's License # and he would not give it. He referred me to a website. At first he said C&L Construction dot com and then he said C Construction dot com. I asked for his Contractor's License # again and he said he would not give it out over the phone and I could get it on the website. The website cconstruction.com does not exist and the c&lconstruction website does not seem right. I looked into the numbers he called me from to discover that others had reported C Construction as a scam. I decided to call him back the next day and he answered "construction" but would not give the name of the construction company or his own name. I asked him to provide his Contractor's License # and he refused and got angry. He demanded to know who I was. I would not give my name. I told him that I identified his company and that others had reported him as a scam company. I told him to remove my information from his database and not to call me. He tried to ask me a question and then I just said I was reporting the phone numbers and the company and then hung up. I feel that he was staking out my home or setting me up for some sort of home invasion or robbery or trying to rope me into some construction fraud. I don't feel safe at the moment and feel he may come after me since he knows my full name and address.
