Open web site Healthstream, after log in, message pop up on entire screen, You have been infected by a virus. Do not close computer as it will cause us to lock you out of the Microsoft system. Call 866-298-7067. I did, a Kristy visited with me (has an oriental accent). She said it would count 199$ to clean the computer and would have to visit with another person. I gave her my Visa card, phone #, address, spouse name, e-mail address. She got into my computer. On the next phone was Ronney, who said he needed to protect my computer with a fire wall. I had 3 choices and prices, $1499.00 was cost and he later told me it was recorded when I wanted to back out. When I watched him put in the charge for software , it showed 499.99. I asked about the other 1000$. He said it was the fee to clean and apply lic. for firewall protection. During this time he said the Visa card wasn't working, if I had another charge card. No I did not, This was the time I informed my husband who was now up. This charge went thru at 0740 to visa, who sent an e-mail to my husband to verify if we charged 499.99. He texted back no. I hung up the phone, we contacted the visa and cxl card. Called bank, changed sign on, changed password for my Apple devices as it has my e-mail. I also cleaned most all e-mails off and deleted the trash. My husband has life lock and we signed me up for an account to cover two business charge cards not listed previously. No other charges were made on the visa today. I verified at 2200 today. 10-8-20. Date and time of scam, 10-08-2018 at 0715 or sooner.
