Cable One Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

As a customer of Cable One in Idaho Falls, ID, I called 208-944-3375 to have my service moved to my new address. The automated answer, "Thank you for your calling Cable One. Please say in a few words why you are calling." I responded, "Transfer service." I was put on a brief hold and transferred to an operator. The man, who said his name was Daniel Bishop (but sounded as though he was located in a foreign call center), informed me that Cable One is not available in the area of my new home. Shocked, I explained that I found that odd since it was literally two blocks from my current home. He informed me that Cable One does not offer services in that area YET, but that they partner with Centurylink and I can set up services with them instead. He wanted $60 installation fee, $45 first month of service, and $10 for a new router. He assured me that the two companies partner with one another and that they were the only provider of internet services for my new address. He proceeded to ask me for my ss# and driver's license number. I hung up. SCARY.
