Rec'd text asking if I'd be interested in having auto wrap put on my car advertising Bang Energy drink. They would pay for wrap and removal, use for 10 weeks at $500 per week. They asked for type of car I owned, my name and address and what Bank I used. They asked for no other personal information. I replied I would need more information. Next thing I heard from them was I would be receiving a check for the auto wrap. Again I replied I needed more information. Next thing I rec'd Cashiers ck in the amount of $4,950 with instructions to deposit ASAP. I called the number I was instructed to call when the deposit was made and spoke an angry man who said he was tired of getting this calls. He gave me his actual phone number which is not even close to the number printed in the letter (657 464 3874) The check arrived via USPS Priority Mail with a company name on the return address. I Googled this company name and found a legitimate construction business at this address in TX. I called this company this morning, they had no idea what this was about. They asked me to send copy of the envelope along with the tracking number to them which I did. I hesitate to publicly name the company on the envelope at this point as I do believe they are innocent. I will provide the information to the ScamPulse.com if someone reaches out to me. When I called the local sheriff's dept. the dispatcher said she had rec'd the same offer through the mail last week. If, in fact, the construction company is innocent I do hope they can locate and do something to these scammers since it involved the US Postal Service.
