I responded to a job listing on Craigslist and filled out their form . A while later I got a voicemail from them and a link for the next steps ,which was to provide a picture of yourself holding your photo ID underneath your chin. After that, I received an email saying that my photo ID was approved and that I will get a paycheck advance for a 10 hour training and the training would be paid at $25/hour, and that a week after a laptop and headset will be mailed out and at that time the training would begin. I received the advance pay check today but it was not for $250; it was for more. Also included with the check, was a letter that said to deposit the check and email the HR dept after it was deposited with a copy of the deposit. Luckily I only have PayPal right now and they would not accept the check. I am going to block any other phone calls or messages from them. I had a feeling. At least I am not out of any money.

I applied for a remote position in Dec either on indeed or craigslist I do not recall. The HR manager left me a voicemail and sent an email with the site. Informed me I needed to complete the verification form and to take a pic with my ID to confirm who I am before equipment is sent out. Training was to be 10 hours at $25 an hour. He sent me a check for more than $250. I asked what the rest was for and he informed me its to send it to the distributor for the laptop and phone. When I mobile deposit the check, I received an unusual activity email. I contacted my bank and they informed me its a fake check. I emailed Sean and have not heard back from him. Prior he was emailing and answering my questions. When I check out the website again, I google the locations and banks, law offices etc are coming up and not the name of the company.

I had responded to a job listing on Craigslist and asked for more information about the job. I received a response that said the link would provide more information about the position, but it was a simple form just asking things like name, address, and how many hours you are interested in working. About a week after filling out the form, I receive a phone call (but I had missed the call) and then an email stating that a voicemail was left for me and since they didn't reach me, there was a link for the next steps, which was to provide a picture of yourself holding your photo ID underneath your chin.
