Caller: is this "my legal name"?

Me. Yes. Who is this?

Caller hung up.

I called back and got the number of a young lady named Catherine. Not sure if this was fishing.

Someone called my phone. The caller said “hello” several times. I answered “hello” each time. Then they said they were from Meeta Insurance. The caller asked if I could hear them. I hung up. (Because I saw this warning on WBAY news.) Also, a note that when I googled Meeta Insurance, a company Facebook page comes up and it says it is located in another country.

Received a call from an unknown number. When I picked up the individual immediately asked "can you hear me"?, I replied "I can hear you" and then he asked again, "Can you hear me"? I inadvertently said "yeah, I can hear you". and he immediately hung up.

I accidentally said yes on the phone. They were trying to get in touch with someone else. I hung up. It sure if truly a scam but concerned. I tried to call the number back and all it says is their operators are busy no business name.

The scammer called from a local phone number and asked "Can you hear me?" I replied "yes" before remembering this is a known scam, at which point I said "no" and hung up as he began his pitch.

My phone rang and I answered. I asked 'who is calling please" and the person said 'Linda, can you hear me'....I forgot and said 'yes' and they hung up. I'm sure it was taped and they're going to try to bill me for something now. I wanted to report it as proof. It happened about 1:55 p.m., Dec. 27, 2023.

I was at a relative's home awaiting return call from plumber and did not know plumber's phone number so answered call and then answered yes when caller asked if it was me, because I was not at my home so assumed that the caller knew me. I am concerned that some random person knew that I was at a relative's house and called pretending to represent a charity. The caller asked for charitable donation for police organization and then hung up. Very concerned that this is a "say yes" scam.

I received a call from this number asking if this was my name. Once I said Yes the person on the other line said sorry I though was old contact He Hung up the phone. I believe this is a YES scam.

I called this number by accident. It was answered by making an offer and asking me can you hear me. They quickly announced the name of the company in an inaudible way. When I asked them to repeat the name of the company, they put on a recording of an offer of some kind of medical equipment. I tried calling back and my phone does not connect to the number.

I am afraid that my yes answer to the question can you hear me may be used for some kind of fraud. What steps should I take to protect myself.
