I received the following email which is obviously a SCAM. I don't even have a bank account with CIBC. “Dear [email protected], A new Bill Payee has been added to your Bill Payees list. The details are as follows: Payee: BC BUS PASS PROGRAM, Merchant account number: If you did not add this new Bill Payee, please Sign In HERE and follow the instructions to verify your CIBC account information. Sincerely, CIBC Online Banking 2016”

I received an email purporting to come from my CIBC bank, informing me that my account will be deactivated within the next 24 hours due to several unsuccessful login attempts. And I must login by activating a link in the email. There are grammatical and spelling errors throughout the email. My bank confirmed that the email is a fraud and a scam.
