Houzlet advertised a condo for rent through VRBO. We reserved it for March 2024 and paid VRBO about $670 and Houzlet $1400. We were sent an invoice collected by authorize.net. Starting in December 2023 we attempted to get an invoice for final payment and received the same message that we would get an invoice 30 days before our March 1st checkin date. We sent multiple requests and never received an invoice. The condo requires an application from all renters and Houzlet never asked for one. After seeing their F rating on ScamPulse.com we decided to lock our credit card and cancel the reservation on February 7, 2024. The reservation is still open on February 23rd and VRBO attempted to charge our credit card $5400 even though we were supposed to get an invoice from Houzlet.

I don’t believe that there ever was a condo to rent. I hope to get proof when we arrive in Naples Florida in a few days. Houslet tells everyone that their payment system, authorize.net, cannot issue refunds after 180 days. That’s not true. It can’t easily issue them but the authorize.net web site says that refunds after 180 days can be issued manually.

VRBO will not respond to complaints and refers us to Houzlet.
