Texas Railroad Commission knows of this scam and people scammed across Texas, but brushed me off as an annoyance. They claimed to have investigated but all they did was have Centerpoint send the last statement (edited) that clearly shows 57.xx for late payment on service plan which has carried over for months they claimed to have removed in October 2023 which is false. Bill reflects 29 gas due, plus $57.00 service plan late payment. Scammer ID never given. Centerpoint Energy reps sold home service plans that I really didn't want. Felt pressured. Explained as two plans (gas and water issues) and street lines. I called to inquire at a number for service to disconnect old gas lines and another issue on water, but no one contacted me. I spoke to Centerpoint Reps at one month to drop service plans and was told they didn't handle that. I asked for phone number to service plans, but told they didn't have one. I called Centerpoint Energy to demand they stop charging me for these plans but they continued. I finally told them I was no longer paying for and would deduct that amount every month on gas bill. Now Centerpoint claims I didn't pay a 29.00 bill late, still owe 59.00 for a service plan and had. I have been calling state agencies. The commission that protects Centerpoint (TXRRC) was contacted and they not only demanded I pay Centerpoint the 29.00, but also $5.00 balance after shutting down my account using my down payment of 125.00. All of this happened within last 10 days.
