The scammer elicits your trust and asks that they hook into your computer and then scans it to determine what the problem is while either cloning your computer and changing your IP address so that they can open credit in your name or otherwise invade your online accounts. They routinely elicit your phone number, home and email address information for this effort as well. This scammer attempted to sell me some virus protection costing $249 which I declined. This happened to me today, 9/15/17, and I will be contacting my bank regarding this and alerting the 3 credit unions to put a freeze on any new credit applications.
