Capital City Decks (www.capitalcitydecks.ca) was hired to do some renovations for us. The main representative we dealt with gave us the name *** *** (we subsequently learned that his real name is *** ***). Associates include a "*** ***" and a "***". We paid a deposit by credit card. After weeks of delays, excuses, and confusing communication from the contractor with no work ever being done, we cancelled the services, suspecting that we had been scammed. We contacted our bank and our deposit was returned to us due to the company's failure to provide the services.

We came to the BBB site thinking that we would file a complaint or leave a review to warn others and subsequently noticed that a complaint had been posted by someone else, which then led us to a different website where we discovered multiple complaints from people who had been scammed by the same person/company. It appears there is an active fraud investigation (possibly multiple investigations) into this person/company. Many people have gone to the police. We filed a report immediately once we discovered this.

Then today, a month after all this took place, we discovered that this person/company made two unauthorized charges to our credit card on two subsequent occasions for thousands of dollars. We reported it to our bank immediately, cancelled the card, and have just filed another subsequent police report. We have also filed a report with the CAFC Fraud Reporting System.

I Hired *** *** *** *** *** *** *** in March to build a deck around my pool. I saw his ad on facebook. This guy has taken money from me to do a job, delivered some materials, not all, and not those that the plans I paid for supported, he did some work, poorly and failed the Building Inspection, but that took 2 months. I cancelled the credit charge, and NOW he's pushing and using scare tactics to try and get the money back. He never intended on finishing this deck just take the money and run. He has done this to many other as well. ***

He is also a *** *** with zero experience he will take your money do half a job at most and run.
