They hacked into her computer initially sometime in 2014, then told her she had to pay money to gain back control of her computer by having them "fix" her computer (remotely). She paid out of fear (2014) because she is elderly and doesn't understand much about how these scams work. Now they are attempting to continue this never-ending scam, it seems...claiming now to be a collections agency, alternately using "Capital Collections, LLC", "Capital Collections Group", "Capital Collections Group, LLC", among others, and using the highly suspect gmail account from which to issue their collection notices via email (capital [email protected]), not even managing to stay consistent. I am investigating this privately on my own, but I think this must be an offshore cabal trying to scam US residents from afar, not daring to do so from a local physical address. I think the HUGE miscalculation they have made was to list any phone number and the P.O. box in FL, because all of this can be tracked down for prosecution. They do not appear to be a registered company as far as I can tell from researching online. They do appear to have a history of scamming the elderly and the unsuspecting via medical insurance scams and ransomware. Everything about this outfit screams FELONY.
