The scammer called my cell phone from the cell phone number (877) 383-4802, to advise my Apple Pay had been activated and three amounts totaling $4000 had been charged and wanted to know if I received a text message from my bank advising me of the deducted amount? I told the scammer no, and the scammer wanted me to give them access to view my cell phone screen so that they could assist me with receiving text messages from my bank in case this happened again. I told the scammer I didn't have an Apple Pay account and I never use Apple Pay. They kindly insisted they were calling from my bank (they had the last four digits of my debit card information and phone number.) The scammer kept trying to convince me to view/share my cell phone screen so they could walk me through the process of receiving text messages from my bank and stop fraudulent Apple Pay. The scammer told me the steps would be sharing my screen (an employee from their digital department would call me (which they attempted) and viewing my screen to visually walk me through the steps. The scammer told me I needed to set up my Apple Pay with my debit card to complete this process and that I should request the same amounts totaling $4000 onto my Apple Pay. While this conversation was taking place, I had my husband call our bank, they told him this was a scam and that the bank would never ask us to share our cellphone screen to set up Apple Pay. I disconnected the call from the scammer, and they called me back from a different phone number (888)-464-0727, I did not answer. Note: Both calls made to me reflected CAPITAL ONE and the number on my caller ID. I had my debit card canceled with my bank and re-issued.
