I was called by someone identifying themselves as Capitol one fraud department, stating that my card had been compromised.The phone number that came up on my phone was under Capitol One since I have it programmed into my phone. ( My card had been compromised on 2 other instances) Everything seemed normal they gave me the last 4 digits of my credit card and asked for confirmation of the card number,expiry date, Crv code and my birthdate. I gave them the information ( stupidly). They told me the names of the that were suspicious ( Calina Tours & Travel & Pegasus Tours). Everything they said seemed legit. After I ended the call I recalled the number that showed up on my phone. The Capitol one automated system answered so I hung up. I told my husband that something seemed off, he told me to call Capitol one, I did. The rep told me that Capitol one hadn’t called me since May 11/21. I had been scammed. They asked me all the info that I had given them, they cancelled my card and suggested that I file a complaint with the BBB.It is 2 hours later and I still feel uneasy.
