The caller ID says its capitol one but when I answer it says its a utility company trying to save me money on my electric bill. They call several times a day up to 5 times every week day.

I received a call on my cell phone at 9:57 am on July 1,2019 From the Capitol One bill statement customer service phone number which was programmed it to my contacts. I answered the call and there was the an automated voice recording which said, "We have made several attempts to contact you, to lower the intrest rate on your credit card. Press 1 if you want the here more." I hung up the phone and contacted Capitol on using the # on the back of my credit card. The Agent said there was no record of Capitol 1 contacting. He as so stated the 800-955-7070 was not a capitol 1 phone number, although, IT IS The customer service # on EVERYONES statement. I then contacted Capitol One using that #. They Thanked me for bringing it to their attention, made note of my concern and advised me to report this to ScamPulse.com as well... JUST LETTING IT BE KNOWN THESES SCAMMERS ARE USING ACTUAL Credit Card CUSTOMER SERVICE phone numbers.....

I've been receiving emails from [email protected] purporting to be about a credit account for someone with initials and last name similar to mine. I called the Capitol One fraud line, they told me that the email was a phishing attempt. The requested that report this to you in addition to forwarding the email to their abuse line.

Caller said he was calling from Capitol One about lowering my interest rates. He said I pay account on time and a little more and that my interest rate was more than 10%. He asked if I had a Visa or MasterCard. I said if he worked for the company he should be able to see what type cards that I have. I told him the call was over and hung up. I could hear other people in the background asking same type questions. He had a possible Hispanic accent. I called Capitol One and reported as well as sent information to email address that they provided.

Received a call from someone claiming to be with capitol one. He told me that he was calling to lower my Apr on the card and need to verify my info. Then continued to ask about other credit cards and I may have. I hung up on him.and called capitol I e right away to have my acct changed. Phone number was 830 377 5592.
