Car decal advertisement Reports & Reviews (13)

I was offered pay to drive my car with an advertisement on display. I received a check in the mail, deposited it, and it turned out to be a bad check.

I haven't experienced any just reporting the message that I received from them.

I received a text asking if I wanted to make $300.00 a week to put an auto decal on my car, I of course said yes. Then I received another text saying that I would get a check in the mail and to deposit in my bank and to take $300.00 out of it for my first weeks check then I was suppose to take $2,000.00 to the installer and have my wrap put on. Well I did receive a check yesterday and my mother-in-law told me to wait to deposit the check she wanted to see if it was a scam or not, thank God for my mother-in-law, cause it was. Just like victim #77876 I received a letter telling me what to do with the check and that I would have to wait for the check to clear. then I was to send a copy of the deposit slip via e-mail to [email protected] and to text this number(916)680-7744. Also I was to mark out any sensitive information about my account. I was to get a amazon gift card for $200.00. the Letter was signed John Morris, auto wrap campaign manager Car Decal Advertisement. I tried to deposit the check on my mobile device, only it wouldn't except the check. And I tried it three times, so they need to catch these people and put them in jail.

Scammers scammed me almost

- Morton, MS, USA

I was contacted by John Morris regarding getting paid to advertise products via a car wrap. I was sent a letter with very detailed instructions as to how to get my vehicle wrap processed along with a check (Laundry & Cleaners Supply, Inc.). After I followed the instructions, including withdrawing cash from the deposit of the subject check and purchasing a money order. I was instructed to send the money order, via Federal Express, to the wrap installation company. Thereafter, a STOP PAYMENT was put on the check leaving my checking account nearly $3,000.00 in the red!!

The routing number on the check was only 6 digits when all routing numbers are 9, and the english in the letter was clearly learned in an English as a second language class.

A person by the name of Jackie emailed me about a week ago claiming a company Car Decal Advertisement was looking to hire individuals and pay them to put car wraps. They sent me a check for $2,500 asked me to deposit in my bank. I waited 5 days for the check to clear at the bank. Once it did I sent them $1,900 through money order from HEB which I sent to UPS overnight to address 602 Vinings Crest in Georgia. The rest of the money was supposed to be my commission. Then I was contacted by the bank that the check was returned. They called me 4/27 to schedule an appointment to put on the car wrap. They called me today that they were on their way but have not arrived at the times they said they were and asked for more money because the guys who were supposed to put on the wraps were stranded and needed me to send $200 more. They did try to get my bank info but I did not provide it. They keep on texting me asking for money as of today.

I got a text asking if I wanted to make $550 a week for advertising a Twix decal on my Jeep for 3 months. Me, thinking it would be easy money, said yes, and forgot about it. About a week later I got another text asking for my address so they could send me info about the decal. I left out my apt number, but gave my mailing address. Again, I forgot about it because they didn’t text back right away. I received a package that had a letter and a check for $2550 and it told me to deposit the money to my back, and send them a receipt. I instantly didn’t think it was a legit check, so I started to research. Found out that it was a scam. I haven’t deposited the check.

Approximately 10 days ago, my mother received an email solicitation (with a link) to make money by having her car wrapped to advertise for a major company. She began completing the form that she was directed to from the link in the email; however, she never submitted it. (She is unable to find the email now.) Today, she received a text message from 720-640-9145, stating verbatim,-- "Hello, I'm glad to inform you that your first week pay check for th NAPA AUTO car advert you applied for has been issued and mailed ou for $2,570 and it will be delivered to your address today via UPS courier service. Once you received the check, take it to your bank and deposit it in your account or deposit it in your account throu mobile banking (Mobile Deposit) or deposit through ATM for fast an quick processing of funds. Also, make sure to read the instruction letter included with the check carefully and get back to me a copy of the deposit receipt for further instructions."-- Approximately one hour after receiving the text message, UPS delivered an envelope with a two-page letter from Car Decal Advertisement (John Morris, Auto Wrap Campaign Manager) and a Cashier's Check from  (Check No.: 59077) in the amount of $2,570.00.. She was instructed to do the following: 1. Go immediately to her bank and cash the check; 2. Send a copy of the deposit receipt to 858-304-1733 or [email protected]; and 3. If she deposited the check on the same day she received it, and sent the deposit receipt as instructed, she would receive a $200 Amazon gift card. My mother was instructed to "mark out" any sensitive banking information on the receipt. Once the check cleared, instructions from the accounting department would be sent, as well as a list of installers who would be able to install and uninstall the car decal (after the 10-week campaign). She would receive weekly payments, which would be sent in the form of a check via a secure courier service, requiring signature upon receipt.

I recently received a text message asking if I would like to earn $450/week by simply putting car decals on my car. No minimum driving required. I replied yes and several days later received another text asking my address. I texted that back. Several days later I received a FedEx envelope with a grammatically incorrect letter from "Car Decal Advertisement" and a check made out to me for $2450.65. It detailed how and when I needed to deposit the check and that I would need to pay the installers of the car wrap. I looked this up online and confirmed that this is a scam. I am so relieved that I didn't fall for it. Catch these bad people!

I saw an ad where you get paid to advertise 5 hour energy drink on your vehicle. You get paid $500 a week for 3 months. I get 3 texts a day asking if I received the check. I need to text them when I receive it. That I need to deposit it online to my bank. Then I need to fill out a piece of paper and send to them. The paper needs my name, amount of check, check #, my email, and cell number. I never cashed the check. I figured it was a scam. I talked to my bank. They said that if I cash it , that whoever these people are that are doing the scam that if they get a hold of my account information, they could clean out my account. That if that happens I would probably be out all that money.
