CARE AIRWAYS Reports & Reviews (6)

I have purchased oxygen equipment and have been receiving a reimbursement check from Medicare each month until this past May. When I contacted Care Airways I was told that a disgruntled employee had cancelled their contract with Medicare and it would be resolved in 60 days. It has been over 3 months now and I have not received any notice or check. Now when I call them no one answers the phone. This has been a considerable financial hardship for me as I am living on a fixed income. Shame on them!

I called Medicare to see if they reimburse Medicare beneficiaries for durable medical equipment which beneficiaries have purchased and paid for in full.

The answer I received is that Medicare does reimburse 80% of the allowed amount for say an oxygen concentrator but only by payment to the beneficiary after a claim has been filed and only as a single check.

Medicare will not reimburse you on a monthly schedule as claimed by 1St Class Medical and Care Airways.

1St Class Medical and Care Airway are scammers.

Paid upfront because they said they don't accept assignments from Medicare and UnitedHealth. So far from September to now Medicare has paid them $118.50 a month and UnitedHealth paid them. $30.23 a month. I have called three times and no one is willing to help.

We are a pulmonologist office and our patient had come across Care Airways and they told our patient it would be 4,500 to purchase the POC and concentrator and that medicare would reimburse the patient 150.00 a month. We called our patient and told them that they should never have to pay upfront and that medicare will take care of the payment. When Care Airways called our office back, we called them out on their scam. Please, do NOT use them, this is what you have insurance for!

CARE AIRWAYS told me that if I paid $2937 up front for an oxygen concentrator, Medicare would reimburse me $150 for 36 months for a total of $5,400, so I paid $2937 via VISA.

When I received the Medicare statement, I noticed that CARE AIRWAYS had billed a $150 equipment RENTAL of $150 to my Medicare.

I contacted CARE AIRWAYS about the billing error. I was repeatedly gaslighted and treated with contempt.

I called Medicare and discovered that CARE AIRWAYS had not disclosed my $2937 visa pre-payment, that CARE AIRWAYS had billed my equipment purchase as a monthly rental, and that Medicare does NOT reimburse at $150 per month for the oxygen concentrator rental because that's far more than they pay per month for equipment rentals.

This is clearly a scam for the company to file a Medicare EQUIPMENT RENTAL claim on equipment for which I had paid in full up front.
