My daughter logged her information in on Care.com's website. About a week later she was contacted by a potential family that was moving to our area and needed someone to care for her son. After several emails back and forth, she asked my daughter for her cellphone number. They then begin to communicate via email and text. The week it was time for her to move, they were at headed to a funeral and was involved in an accident. She made it clear to my daughter that she was hired and wanted to prove that this was not a joke, so she told my daughter that she will forward her a check for the 1st week. The very next day she texted my daughter and told her that her son need a wheelchair and she would be increasing the check. She would then need to cash the check, keep $300.00 and hold on to the balance of $1650.00.

The check was overnighted in the amount of $1950.00. I told my daughter that we need to report it because it was a scam.
