Two "recruiters" reached out to me via email after seeing my resume on a job board, and offered to interview me. One recruiter claiming to represent lululemon and one Evolve Health. Both fake recruiters interviewed me first over Teams, but completely through messaging and never through the video call function. While I thought this was strange, and it raised a red flag for me, I thought "maybe this is the way health and wellness coaches get recruited" - plus the hourly rate they were offering ($85/hr full time) seemed too good to pass up, and so I had blinders on. The pay made me want to believe these were legitimate opportunities. The next round of interviews were via a phone call - another red flag, as I never met someone "face to face." Finally, the offer letters sent were simply not designed well enough to have come from such large companies - they did not look like they had been designed by a professional.

These were smart, very detailed, days-long cons - and luckily I never sent them any important personal information - but that does not mean this was a harmless scam.
