So “Mr Martin” told me he will send me the computer that I need to use for my remote job and he will also send me a check that I will use to buy a specific equipment for my work. He send me the check electronically and I the check in my bank at first it was accepted so I thought it was legit! After a few days the my bank emailed me saying the check bounce back! I called my bank and good thing the guy I spoke to was straight to the point saying that it might be a scam I also scam. I told “Mr Martin” that the check did not went through and he told me another lie which he wanted me to open a bank account to a different bank so I can have my own card to there company! He gave me a name and ssn from a random guy and told me to call this military bank and pretend he is my father so they will let me have an account and they can get my acc# and routing.
At this moment I knew now it is a scam and they just wanted me to open a account so they can loan money under my name. I immediately went to SSN to report the incident and called my bank to put layers of security since he knows my information! And now Im too paranoid given me so much anxiety! If they will use my info. Good thing my bank told me they cannot open a loan under my name since now bank required physical SSN, ID and identity check. Also I went to my local tax to check if they will try to file, and same thing they also need a lot of verification and identification check. So at this point Im relieved!
If u guys planning to apply do not use LikeIn and Indeed. Before this is a great app on employment but now there are so many scammers who just wanted to get your info for their own benefits!
Yes, Mr. Cabrera D. Martin of Caribbean Couriers Inc is FAKE.
Caribbean Couriers Inc" and this page came up - surprisingly I had searched the WebCPE and Kartik Saha and didn't see anything relating to the scam, but now that I've typed it, hopefully it does.
If you encounter a scammer, I advise you to take all the screenshots and copy all links possible so that they can be shut down easier. They will erase their tracks the minute they have a chance. Unfortunately, I was copying and taking screenshots and apparently took too long, so they erased their messages and are no longer messaging me.
I was immediately clued in on the inability to find a Caribbean Courier.ORG - there was a .COM in multiple places. This is to confuse people who don't understand that these are two completely separate addresses and though the "company name" is the same, it is a common tactic to redirect traffic.
