My mother in law received a phone call concerning her electric bill through TXU. They had her address, phone and meter number even a TXU reference number which we have found out was fake. They told her that her meter had been reading abnormally high and that unfortunately unless she paid roughly $700 that they would have to cut her power until they could send someone out. Unfortunately for us she fell for it due to the legitimacy they spoke with however after sending the money she found out it was not true. Its an unfortunate and easily avoidable mistake but nonetheless she is out $700. We have reported to moneygram as well as TXU but everyone please be on the lookout especially those who speak Spanish only
