Type of a scam Online Purchase
We continued to text back and forth throughout the day. He said they can transport the dog to me for an additional $200. Including the cost of the puppy for $700, that brought the total to $900.
He asked for my name, email, address, phone number, and relevant airport information, which I gave to him. He said I could pay with Zelle or Venmo. I said Venmo but he asked if I could use Zelle instead (he definitely preferred to use Zelle). I told him I prefer Venmo so he gave me his Venmo payment information: Venmo Tag: @*********, Name: Manny Boutabag, Last phone # digits: ****, Amount $900. My Venmo payment wouldn't go through so he asked me to use Zelle instead. He gave me this email for Zelle payment: ******************. I had trouble getting that payment to be approved on my end, but it was finally approved right shortly after 5:00pm. I texted him and he confirmed the funds arrived in his account. He then said he would email the document of transfer, which I never received.
About 1/2 hour later, I started looking at their website more closely and realized although the website listed many positive Google reviews, Google showed no reviews and listed it as only being indexed that same month (May 2022). I texted him asking if he was still working. He simply replied that he already emailed the document to me (I never got it). I replied that I didn't get the document, and asked more pointed questions about why his website reported incorrect facts, and why their website was just indexed that month (May 2022). He never replied to me after that.
