Applied for a data entry job on Linkedin.com to a company called carrentals.com. Got an email from their HR department requesting a meeting with HR to go over the position and benefits. The meeting was a webinar about becoming a travel agent. with a company called Booking with Jacob. I stayed for the entire webinar because as a stay at home mom this is a career I have always been interested in. At the end of the webinar they asked for a monthly membership of $49 or a year fee of $389 to cover licensing fees and classes. I googled if this was normal and yearly or monthly memberships are not normal for this type of career. So I googled the company and that is where I found other claims similar to mine on the website, claiming it was a scam. They tried several times to call me and text me with the number coming from Vancouver, WA even though the company claims to be from California. I have since blocked the number and have blocked their emails.
