Rarely do I ever take time out of my day to write reviews, unless I have experienced the upmost exceptional experience because I love telling people how amazing and creative other people can truly be when they provide amazing customer service, and help people create memorable memories. Unfortunately I CANNOT say that about Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo or any other entity associated with Casa Loy Cafe. I was recently told about Casa Loy Cafe and that it’s a portable coffee service cart that would tend to weddings and other events. Being that my family and I were planning a milestone birthday party for my niece, we obviously wanted to celebrate her and make sure her evening was special for her and her friends. Once told about the possibility of being offered different options for coffee my niece and her friends were over the moon excited about the coffee cart coming from Casa Loy Cafe. I personally reached out to Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo for a quote and contract agreement which they were VERY prompt with, they also made sure to notify that I only had a 2 hour window that same day to send the deposit electronically to them, which initially was not a huge deal to me but it did trouble me deeply that they insisted on the $300 deposit being paid within such a short period of time but I went ahead and sent it to Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo with proof that payment was sent. Immediately after paying the deposit I did receive a reminder that I had to pay the remaining invoice amount by certain date that was BEFORE my event date, I then began receiving SEVERAL DAILY reminders to pay the remaining amount. I again passed it off as another glitch or just another mishap when I DID send the remaining amount of the payment instead of receiving an updated invoice like Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo said I would I got ANOTHER reminder to pay again. When I reached out to Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo about the miscommunication, instead of reassuring me that it was in fact paid and just a system error, I was given an awful, sarcastic and rude phone call from Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo basically telling me they have full time jobs and only have certain time frames to address business customers and their needs. I would have never paid a deposit of that amount to a business that doesn’t even have the time to address customers or the business itself because the owner works full time for another company. It does not feel good or comforting for a business practice on the owners part. Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo then decided to send a very passive aggressive email that included the updated invoice, after that interaction with Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo where they treated me so horribly I decided to allow another family member to correspond with them because I feared the animosity I already felt coming from them and truly just wanted to have the best event possible with their service playing their part in it. Two days before the event my family member was notified by Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo that the contract they had showed the event date as the day AFTER our actual event date, they quickly corrected their mistake for the date of the party but on the actual day of the event they called to tell me that it was my responsibility to be sure that their cart and equipment fit in the venue and that it had been specified in the contract. After speaking to the venue owner as well as a building contractor, they assured us that the cart dimensions given by Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe would in fact be able to be brought inside without issue or harm to any property, but Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe refused to do the event and even refused to proceed with the service after being offered accommodations by the venue owner for a table to be set inside WITHOUT them using the cart at all and Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe still refused. They then made it very clear a refund would not be made and that we can choose another date for the service to take place, being that Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe had the INCORRECT date on the contract the entire time, we requested that they come to a residential address the day after our event, which was their original contract date. The residential address had ample room and no limitations that would impede them completing the service, but Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe still refused and said the date was now too short notice. This made no sense to us because we literally had to ask them to correct the date two days before our event because of their mistake to begin with, they then offered a credit for service at a later date. My concern and worry all along was always that Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe were not an honorable or legitimate business. I learned the hard way that they in fact are not, and I truly do not want Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe to take advantage of other people’s trusting nature. They advertise as a small, family ran business and that’s what’s most disappointing, aside from my niece and our guests being COMPLETELY disappointed by Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe, I love supporting local, small and especially family owned businesses, but Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe are definitely not a legitimate business, they have zero integrity and do not place any value towards their customers. They are just out to scam and take people’s hard earned money. Please be careful and I would recommend ANY other company even the higher priced mainstream corporations over Fernando & JD Coss-Sotelo and Casa Loy Cafe.
