Preordered a half couch casket in 2018. Made an initial payment of 550.00, then 60.00 monthly intermittantly because they weren't responding to payments or emails. Total paid before I stopped paying was 1060.00. Parent died Jun 23 2023 and we tried Jun 24 2023 to find out the full balance owing and have the casket delivered. "Todd" put us off and told us to send an email to [email protected] telling them exactly what we needed and they would call us back or email within 24 hrs. Of course, they didn't contact us, so first thing Monday morning we called him. He said the team saw the email, but they would have to pull our records to get the info. We told him we needed the casket sent so it would be here well before the service. He said since we're in Colorado it would just take 1-2 days to arrive. Once again he told us someone would call either Monday afternoon or at the latest Tuesday. It didn't happen and we called him back Tuesday morning. He said well let's get the card info and I'll go ahead and process the delivery. When I told him I wanted the FULL balance owing before giving him the card, he responded that he'd need a few more hours to get that info (it's what I had asked for in email AND verbally) and he'd call back. I already knew I still owed 620.00 on the casket, but I wanted taxes and shipping so I could pay it all and get the delivery. When he did call back, he wanted to charge us 1180.00 shipping from NY in addition to my 620.00 balance. He never did mention taxes. We asked about the shipping from NY when he indicated the casket was in a Colorado warehouse. He said no, it would come to HIM from NY, then he'd ship it to us! I'M TRYING TO BURY MY MOM FOR GOODNESS SAKE!! and this man is playing games with us. We finally realized there was no casket and probably no legitimate business so we told him to cancel the order and return my 1060.00. He said they don't refund. Said it costs more to issue a refund and they don't refund, but if we want to pay the balance they'll send us the casket. I'm pretty sure there'd be no casket sent and quite obviously it would NEVER be sent. This entire fiasco stressed me terribly and caused me undue frustration because now we don't have a casket, I have to buy another one, and this fraud takes advantage of innocent people AND TAKES THEIR MONEY, AS WELL!! I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER PERSON SCAMMED LIKE THIS FROM "TODD" OR WHOEVER HE IS! I TRULY DOUBT THERE IS EVEN A REAL BUSINESS CALLED CASKETSITE. HE NEEDS TO BE STOPPED AND SHUTDOWN FOR HIS DECEIT AND SHADY PRACTICES!!
