Type of a scam Tech Support
She originally reached out to me to help with my business. With a flat fee of $300, she'll come up with a press kit for PR, social media reach, bloggers, influencers, etc. Her pitch was, with one flat fee, she'll deliver a press kit which she'll use to reach out to various outlets for my business to help increase the sales over 8 weeks.
First, I wasn't sure if this is some scam, I did my part of research and found a pretty good trail of her on LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. She also submitted a few examples of past projects/brands she worked with. I also talked to her on the phone for an initial conversation. So I felt, "Okay, she is a real person and $300 is such a small amount for an investment..." decided to work with her.
For the beginning stage, she seemed pretty responsive, we emailed back and forth. But I noticed she became less and less responsive to my emails. She eventually delivered the first draft of the press kit and I requested some revisions, I wanted to switch some pictures she used, etc. Small changes. She never came through with the second draft. I kept emailing to see what's going on, but she was so hard to reach.
I decided I no longer wish to work with her. It was very frustrating to get any response at this point and nothing was produced as she promised. I sent another email to request a refund. She responded to that email to my surprise and agreed to refund and the money should come by the end of week. Well, surprise surprise, the refund never came through.
I emailed her again, called her and left a message, texted her. NOTHING.
Basically she took my money and ran. No refund.
I found out there's an open letter to Cassie Boorn from a bunch of artists who also got scammed by her through a website called " Modern Thrive"
