First, a Tracy Riggs reached to me by phone letting me know they got my resume through LinkedIn. A Tracy Riggs can be found on LinkedIn but it’s a blank profile and no update to the profile of either. Thought it was weird that she found me on LinkedIn but didn’t have a profile pic.

I personally didn’t remember applying to the company specifically, but I applied to many jobs via LinkedIn. They had me download RingCentral and scheduled a time to interview, I go into RingCentral and the interview is chat-based. I thought it was strange but being that the job is data entry, didn’t think too much of it at first. The next day, I am offered the job and they send me a contract.

Long story, short. They let me know they will send me a check to purchase supplies. They send both sides for me to print out and cut out myself. The fake check is from Western Power Sports, Inc.

I received similar texts and emails, but mine was from a Kelly Browne from ajinomoto biopharma. I also had to download Ring Central and thought it very odd that the emails had no title or phone number for the talent recruiter. I thought the interview by email was odd but my radar went off when they sent me copies of a check to deposit into my account. That's when I decided to investigate further. Not finding on LinkedIn that I applied at this company, I checked the initial text and Googled the phone number. I knew it was too good to be true. Obviously they are using numerous company names. Has anyone reported this scam to LinkedIn? So thankful for all of you who have posted on here.

Scammer used email to contact about hiring for a data entry clerk position. She did list very specific job details and inviting me to an interview on Ring Central a video app to download for interview process. I called the number and it goes to voicemail. Please avoid these SCAM wasting my time!

My husband received a text that his resume had been chosen by Catalent from the Indeed website. A Zoom meeting was set up and it last over an hour the first day. The second day he was offered the position and immediately pressured to print and deposit a check from them for office equipment. This went on for two hours! When he refused until he was provided her contact information and a formal offer letter the conversation was abruptly ended. Please don’t fall for this!

I’m so glad I found the scam reports on this company I was always thinking in the back of my head that this was just to good to be true. I don’t understand how these scammers target certain people but I hope this never happens again.

Wow I received similar messages from this company. First it was text messages that I deleted because it sounded fishy. I have applied for so many jobs on Indeed so I wasn’t sure if I had applied for this or not but something was off. So anyway, just last night I received an email offer and decided to search google to see what info I could find and that’s when I found this thread. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve had a similar experience feeling like this job was too good to be true. I deleted the text messages once I felt it might be a scam, but the first real thing that was off-putting to me was the fact that they asked me via text message what position I would be interested in and listed a number of different roles after saying they pulled my resume from Indeed. If I applied via Indeed, you should know what role I’m interested in. I went on Indeed to see if I remembered even applying for the position because I didn’t remember doing so. The guy became pushy once I became hesitant and stopped texting back as fast. I gave them my email linked to my Zoom account because I thought they would set up a Zoom conference, but they started asking me questions through the Zoom chat. Again, very weird. Once it got to that point, I blocked them on everything. But this morning, I received another text message.
“Catalent Pharmaceutical Company Scam”

To start out, I’m in cybersecurity, so I know the phishing scams etc.

I got an email from a guy name greggory Harris gayle @gmail.com.

First of all, no call center rep would make 27.55 an hour. Number two, do NOT reply to someone who is “offering” an interview from gmail. A real recruiter would have their company after the @.

Then I got a text message from a 616 number. I’m like okay, let me play along lol.

The way he was so pushy was extremely annoying. So then I had enough of it. My fiancé deleted my messages when he looked at it so I do not have the full messages but what I do have is what I said to them, as well as the last thing he said to me.

Please be careful out there. Do not fall for these scammer who want money or try to get you in trouble by the law.
I’m sure I scared them away

Same thing happened to me. I checked my indeed to see if I even applied to the position and I didn’t find anything. I’ve done remote interviews in the past and the email should always have the company’s name attached this person email me from a personal gmail account. Beware and check the companies website to see what you would actually have to do to apply for a job. I just added a few pictures from screenshots I took in Zoom. The main thing I would advise is companies always have a header and if you don’t see the header run.

I got a very similar text as JB, only the person's name was "Mrs Mary Andrew from the Company,Catalent Pharmaceutical". Then I was immediately put on Zoom with a so-called hiring member of the company, named Howard Williams, who kept me on there for an hour. Aside from it being completely over DM's (which should have been a red flag, but I kept expecting a video conference to start) it felt like a genuine job interview at the time.

Fortunately, after the interview was over, I got to thinking about it and thought it sounded fishy ($45 per hour for a data entry position?), so I found this page, which confirmed it. I know a lot of us need jobs badly right now and it's easy to get your hopes up when something good seems to come along--just be careful out there.

Just got the same message AGAIN, with the person's name and company name changed. I'll post this under the other "company" as well.

I was contacted via text to set up an interview over messaging which I thought was weird but with Covid I didn’t think much of it. A man named Eric Doan reached out and explained the company and what I would do everything sounded real until I was given a check that I was to print out and put into my bank account that bounced and the banker told me that it was a scam I gave him my personal info as I said everything was real from what I experienced in the past with the hiring process. He has me fill out taxes paperwork and the EDD paperwork as well [censored] everything else. I’m not 100 percent sure it’s a scam but I’m nervous and would like to know

I am Mrs Felicia Skyman from Catalent Pharma Solutions.reviewed your resume published online(www.hireveterans .com).Reply if interested

I was contacted by Matt Mikos via email about a remote administrative assistant job in May of 2021. An interview was set up on Fleep chat. I was offered the position a couple of days later via email, and attachments included an offer letter and information on their onboarding process. The hiring manager per the email info would be Matt Mikos ([email protected]). There were tasks to be done via Fleep in the days following, and I was to watch for a check in the mail to purchase the computer/office equipment needed for the job. The check came via FedEx delivery for $8,450.87. The bank on the check was JP Morgan Chase Bank in Oklahoma City, OK. I was instructed via Fleep to deposit the check and let Matt know it was done with a picture of the deposit slip. Supposedly this was to get the equipment purchased and headed my way. My bank put an immediate hold on the check and tagged it as possibly being counterfeit. After a few days, the check was returned for insufficient funds. Thankfully all I had to pay was a small return fee, but it could have been a lot worse. I gave copies of all correspondence to my bank's fraud department.

I was contacted by Emily Schaffer who was posing s a Talent Aquisition Recruiter for Catalent about a Remote Administrative Assistant position. I did the interview via Fleep and was informed that I was hired and my start date would be June 14, 2021. I asked would the company provide the necessary equipment and was advised that the company would finance me getting the equipment. Emily said that I would receive a check for the purchase and installation of the equipment. I receeived the checks on Monday or Tuesday of this week. I told Emily that I received two checks and she told me to shred one of the checks and deposit the other as they had glitch in their system which caused the production of the two checks. At any rate, when I went to the bank to deposit the check, I was adised by my bank that this was probably a scam and that I should take the check to the bank it was drawn on JP Morgan Chase bank to verify the vailidity of the check which I did. Further, the bank told me that if I used any of the money and the check was returned I would be responsible for the funds both checks were for $8450 and some change. One check was drawn on on Chase in Okalhoma City, OK and the oother was drawn on Chase in round Rock, TX. I took bboth checks to Chase and was advised that the checks were indeed fradulent. I still have both the checks as well as the offer letter. I then contacted Emily and told her the situation, needless to say I did not hear anything back.
