I ordered a dress for an upcoming wedding from www.cavovia.com, a site I saw on Facebook. The next day my credit card was charged twice for one item, and the charges were billed from www.sportvalley.com, which didn’t make sense. The order confirmation came from both cavovia and xborderecommerce, another unknown - no contact phone or address. And shipping of the dress would take an unreasonable 52 business days. Too many red flags as a potential scam. I followed the Cavovia site’s cancellation policy, using a link provided. I also responded to the confirmation email to request cancellation. I have received responses, each of which fails to honor my request:
“Hello, sorry for the unpleasant shopping experience. You can wait until you receive the items to make a decision. Maybe they are very suitable for you, and you will like them very much. Looking forward to your reply. Anything we can do for you, Please feel free to contact us via [email protected]”
“ After receiving the items, you contact us and you will be refunded $5 as a compensation. Can you keep the order?”
So much for ordering clothes online! In addition to sharing this experience here, I am disputing the charges on my credit card, and requesting a new card.
