I replied to an add for renting an apartment on Craigslist. The person requested an $80 refundable fee in order to ensure that I would show up for the appointment we made for checking me the apartment, claiming that they lived far away and that many potential tenants do not show up for the appointments. I paid the $80 through Zelle using the email they provided ([email protected], for Caylea Marciano). Then they requested that I paid a deposit which I refused. They took the add down and stopped replying to my texts.
