C&C Market Research (the fake one) contacted me via LinkedIn direct message re: mystery shopper opportunities weeks ago. Unexpected mail arrived: Priority Mail from Seattle, WA with instructions (multiple typos), a cashier's check for $1,850 in advance, info to buy a ton of store gift cards and send a cashier check for $25 to Hope Children's Home Orphanage in Tampa, FL. Keep $500 for myself as payment. This is not how ANY MYSTERY SHOPPER ORGANIZATION WORKS. So it was comical as well as horrible, because others will fall for it.
