My cousin died earlier this week. For the last few days, I’ve searched periodically for his obituary online. At first nothing came up, which was to be expected. Yesterday I noticed several results that seemed to look like obituaries but were from odd websites, including celebcritics.com. The “obituaries” are riddled with factual errors and the one on Celeb Critics has nothing of substance - it looks like the website has an obituary template and just plugs in names. Some of the sites result in pop ups (phishing), but Celeb Critics doesn’t- it doesn’t ask for memorials either. I’m not sure why a website would write a terrible fake obituary, but this is hurtful to our family and my cousin’s friends.
