This person pretended to be a company that was eager to hire me. However, they tried to get me to print a check for $1000.00 and deposit it into my personal bank account. I did not continue contact after the fake check was sent to my email.

I received a text message from someone "named" Jason Blake regarding an employment opportunity for a data entry position. I was told I need to download the app Telegram in order to conduct an interview that way. I was told I needed to send a message to phone number 303-710-8253. I did that and began talking to the individual. They asked normal interview type questions and then after said he needed to show the conversation to HR then came back and said I they wanted to move forward with me and I would be making $48 an hour (which sounded completely wrong and was definitely an indication this was a scam of some type) He then sent a list of the various electronics, software and hardware I needed to buy using a company check. He then sent me an email that contained a W4 for the company with the address of the company being 1975 S Emerson St Denver CO 80210 and also an echeck of 2360. He was trying to walk me through the process of exactly what I should be doing with the check. I told him I was not comfortable depositing anything into my accounts and will not be until I speak with someone over the phone. He then told me that "Every other new employee have done this" and that it was basically a waste of time if I do not "value" their process. I told him at this point I want him to withdraw me from this and I wont be depositing anything and forward back the email. He closed the chat which deleted the whole conversation (but I made sure I got screenshots throughout the whole thing) If you receive any text messages from anyone saying they are associated with this company save your time and energy and just block them. I see there is another report on here about the exact same company. It is truly sad and disgusting that there are people exploiting others and their need for employment during this already trying time. I made sure to take plenty of screenshots and I have the various names, email addressed, phone numbers and the "company's" EIN from the W4.
