I applied for a job with the Census Bureau through their wesite. I left a voicemail and sent an email. I mentioned seeing the ad in job apps like Indeed. I received a call a days later about my inquiry. But it was from a cell phone. I questioned that it was but the caller was convincing that their phones were down. It was the last day, 9/15/23 for them to send out the information per their webite. So, I believed him. He asked for my name, phone number and email address. I didn't see any harm because it wasn't my DOB or SSN. It just felt weird after I hung up and I haven't received the promised employment packet to complete by 9/22/23. He also gave me a desk number to call back later because I asked why from a cell phone. It was 630-288-9270. I called and it was a legit number. But still no packet. I believe that they were recording my voice with my information.
