They called with an automated message saying that this is Center point energy and your service will be disconnected unless you call and pay this bill. I knew it was a scam from the start. I called the number just to see what would happen and the automated version says this is a business account and then they give you a list of numbers to push if you want to proceed. I pushed the button for hours and the guy that answered said this is billing can I have your account info and I told him I just needed the hours and he said can I have your account info. so make sure you are not giving you info out!

The caller (recording) that there is a serious delinquent balance and power will be cut off if payment is not made. They press "1" to speak with a Rep or dial 1-800-854-7795.

I knew it was a scam from the very beginning. I pressed "1" for curiosity and a man from India answered. I asked what company he was with and he said Center Point. Then I asked "are you sure you are with Center Point, or are you a SCAM? They hung up. We get these calls quite often. This is an elementary school. Just wanted to report the scam.

A woman named Ashley said she was from center point energy, proceeded to tell me we had an outstanding balance and it needed to be paid within 30 minutes or we would be disconnected. She emailed me a qr code and told me I had to go inside a gas station and paying cash through a kiosk. I could not pay over phone or with a check. 988.00 they tried to scam us for!
