The incoming call from the scammer showed up as “Centerpoint Enr”. I took the call and the scammer wanted to confirm my last name and address. Then proceeded asking why I had made the call even tho the scammer had called me. I pointed out that I did not make the call, but that I was wanting to know why I received the call and while I had provided a previous address, the scammer got impatient and didn’t let me finish telling him my previous address which I thought was strange.

He then pauses and nervously says the call was made to me because I had a passed balance of $181. I told him that account was discontinued back in January and that the information he somehow had was incorrect. The scammer immediately then hangs up on me.

Received a recorded phone message telling me my power would be shut off due to delinquent account. I pressed 1 to speak to a person. When someone came on the line they asked me for my address and name, they then told me my account was delinquent and my power would be shut off soon. I told them it was not possible and he then asked when the last time I paid my bill was. I told him I do not currently have an account with Centerpoint energy and he immediately hung up on me.
