I received a notification I was receiving mail today from this company. I, too, started an LlC in Wyoming about a week ago. From the image through the envelope (I have informed delivery through USPS so I can see a scanned picture of the envelope) requesting a certificate of good standing. I googled this company and took it a step further by looking them up through the Secretary of State. Their business is inactive and license was revoked due to not paying taxes. This happened in May. I’m unclear how they’re still operating legally.

After filing my company with the State of Wyoming Secretary of State, I received a letter with a return envelope stating that I had to pay $70 to process my Certificate of Good Standing. This is free from the Wyoming Secretary of State. This is a SCAM!

2021 Certificate of Good Standing Request

Just registered my LLC with the State of WY and I’m glad I googled Centurion Filing Services and found other people who noted they are scamming $70 for a service that the WY Secretary of State issues for Free!
The letter comes complete with a return envelope for convenience (which makes it more believable). They congratulate you on registering your business with the State of WY and tell you that you have “one more step left in order to buy your optional Certificate of Good Standing. They provide a “Key Code” a “notice date” and even a “Please Respond By” date! Oh- and an ID# to boot! They DO however, mention that they are not affiliated with any government or state agency- and their notice is a “solicitation for your business”. Great hustle I must say! Tricky wording can prevent them from being penalized for fooling people who would have absolutely NO idea how things work in WY because they reside elsewhere.

Once registered with the Wyoming Secretary of State, I received a letter stating I needed to pay $70 for a Certificate of Good Standing from the state. This is a real certificate needed, but it is provided (free of charge) from the state's true governmental website. DO NOT send money to these people.

I incorporated a company in Wyoming. A few days later, I received a letter in the mail from "Centurion Filing Services". They use a form that seems like an official form for requesting a Certificate of Good Standing issued by the Wyoming Secretary of State and request a check for $70 in order to process the request.
