Type of a scam Tech Support
I asked if his name was really Jack Stevens and told him that I had spent a considerable time in Mumbai, India and that his accent was very familiar to me. I told him I thought he was really trying to either sell me something or he was endeavoring to gain some partial control or hacking of my computer. To which, he responded that he was trying to help me rid my computer of problems in my computer that are the result of my computer having been hacked and that a virus was installed. I advised him that I had multiple safeguards against just that sort of thing and that I was planning to report him and his company to the ScamPulse.com and to the authorities.
At this point, his tone changed significantly and he stated that "** *** ** *** ** *** ***.
I said my how your tone has changed Jack and he said "*** *** ** ** ***"
I will try the number given for the company and endeavor to check their website but I seriously doubt either will be valid. Please use your good offices to communicate this scam to others.
